Call Me Religious

"Religious!" "Bible believer!" "Out of your mind!" "You still believe in that?" I hear your words. I know your game. But I don't live for your approval. I belong to Jesus Christ. You point your fingers, call me blind, A relic of another time. You laugh at every word I say, And tell me faith has had its day. You call me narrow, call me weak, Condemn the very truth I speak. But I have walked where shadows reign, And Christ has broken every chain. You want me silent, want me small, To hide the One who broke my fall. But there's a fire you cannot tame, And I will never hide His name! Call me religious, call me blind, You cannot change what lives inside! I don't bow down to your demands, My life is held in Jesus' hands! No empty rules, no chains of shame, Christ lives in me — I bear His name! You can shout until the heavens shake, But His love is something you can't take! You wear your freedom like a crown, Then try to drag my freedom down. You preach your tolerance to me, But hate the faith that set me free. You say the Bible's out of date, And turn my hope into your hate. But truth is not a passing trend, His living Word will never end! I won't repay your hate with hate, I know the love that changed my fate. You cannot steal what grace has won, My life is hidden in the Son! Call me religious, call me blind, You cannot change what lives inside! You can shout until the heavens shake, But His love is something you can't take! You call it weakness — I call it grace! You see a rebel — He sees His child! You speak of religion...
