Be My Refuge

Original English lyrics · Production directions omitted for reading.

The vine is dry. The songs are gone. I walked my own roads far too long. I knew Your voice and still chose mine. I built my shelter one lie at a time. I called it freedom. I called it strength. Now I come with nothing left to defend. The road was mine. The choice was mine. Lord, I was wrong. BE MY REFUGE NOW. Not the strength in my hands, not the road beneath my feet. I trusted both before. BE MY REFUGE NOW. Take the man who made himself his guide— and lead him home. Now men rise against me, and anger wakes again. But I know these hands. I know this heart. I will not make myself the judge. What they have done— I place before You. What I have done— I place there too. Let evil return upon my enemies. Not by my hand. BY YOURS. Not by my anger. IN YOUR TRUTH. I give You my case. I give You my wrath. Judge what I cannot judge. See what I cannot see. IN YOUR TRUTH— DESTROY WHAT STANDS AGAINST YOU. YOU ARE MY REFUGE NOW. The judgment is not mine. My life is not mine to rule. And if Your truth searches me— I WILL NOT RUN. Search me. Correct me. Keep me near You. I have walked my own roads long enough. YOU ARE MY REFUGE NOW. When my road is finished, let me enter Your peace. Until then— no vengeance in my hands, no crown upon my head. You are God. I am Yours.
